Boston Group IAM – Motorcycle Section

Discussion on Summer activities concluded that Tuesday evening sessions were generally successful and timings were acceptable although there were exceptions where some Observers and Associates could not make the meeting point on time if at all. In the latter case individual arrangements had been made directly between Observers and Associates for alternative days/times.

There had been some excellent Sunday social rides with attendances widely differing from just a handful to large gatherings as for the recent rides to Foxton, Oxfordshire and Nigel MacDonald’s farewell. Many thanks to the organisers of all the rides.

Observers: Trainees to make contact with Qualified Observers to arrange accompanied ride outs with their Associates.

Assessment Forms are due for reprinting when current stocks exhausted and opportunity will be taken to update with suggested additions to include Eyesight checks, Slow Riding Record and Routes taken. Any further suggestions to Keith Bell for re-print before Spring.

Distribution of Assessment Forms:- Associate, Coordinator (Steve Anderson) and Regular Observer.

A discussion on the use of Observer/Associate database (which sits in a private area of the website) took place following a question on this subject. KB & AH explained why this was needed and how it was used by committee and Secretary to advise performance of Group to IAM and internally whilst preserving confidentiality.

16^th/17^th January Springfields/Spalding Bike Show: Mike Doherty to coordinate Boston Group stand arrangements.

Mike Doherty also suggested that we organise a Bike Tyre Workshop with Holbeach Tyres covering use of Puncture Repair kits and other tyre issues. Further details, location and date to be confirmed – check Forum/Calendar.
