Item 1. Meeting Point for Tuesday Night Runs.
Following a brief discussion it was agreed that the meeting point for Tuesday night runs would remain as the Texaco Services at Sutterton on the A16/A17 roundabout. Please park at the far end of the car park opposite the petrol station and not in the few parking spaces on the forecourt. The first meeting for 2007 will be 3 April at 1830. Please aim to arrive early to enable observed runs to commence at 1830 to make best use of the limited light available.
- Item 2. Monthly Social Run on a Tuesday Night.
Following intense discussion it was agreed that a social Tuesday run would be undertaken every 4th week. However, this would be dependant on numbers attending on the night, weather conditions etc and would remain a flexible fixture. No group would consist of more than 4 bikes despite a common destination.

- The AGM will be held at the Wyberton Sports and Social Club on Mon 21 May at (TBC) 8pm. If there are any volunteers to join the Committee then please put their names forward. The post of Bike Section Coordinator presently held by Nigel is open to offers. Steve Freemantle expressed a very strong desire to join the Committee and Martin Tomlinson volunteered his service as the Bike Section Coordinator. If any one else wishes to join the Committee they would be most welcome – just let one of the current Committee members know and turn up on the night. Even if you don’t want to join the Committee – turn up anyway – don’t worry – you won’t be co-opted or bullied into volunteering.
Item 7. AOB
- Discussions took place on the following topics:
- Bike Section Associate Recruitment – investigate possibility of placing advert in local press (Boston Standard or Target) to highlight to riders emerging following a winter layoff of the importance of a good riding plan. Provide some details for Peter Lyver (Press Officer) to put in print.
- Possibility of a Rider Improvement Scheme – option for Police to offer Skill For Life (at the usual cost) in lieu of fine and points.
- Recruitment flyer to be placed in local papers/prominent bike stops.
- New reception/initiation procedure for new associates. Will work if we have upwards of ten new Associates joining at once. Saturday am in classroom followed by Assessed ride in the afternoon.
- Possibility of being notified by IAM Head Office when an individual signs up for Skill for Life so that the Group can initiate contact and encourage attendance.
